In 1 Timothy 2:1-6, 8 Paul the Apostle exhorts us to first of all pray for those in authority. He states it very plain and the reason why he does that is so that we and our children can live a life of peace and quiet with all dignity. As a mother of 3 children, I desire that for them as well as the generation that will follow. A few years ago, a local church hosted one of our state representatives at a women's breakfast. One of the comments she made was, "If people knew the decisions that we the state congress has to make for their lives on a daily basis, they would be on their knees crying out to God to give us wisdom". That is what the Governors Prayer Team is all about in the state of Washington. We are here to intercede for our state leaders and ask God's blessing of protection, guidance, wisdom and counsel. Please join me and others to keep Washington State before the eyes and ears of God.
Susan Johnsen
Susan Johnsen recently retired from Washington State government after working 40 years with seven different state agencies under seven different governors. She recognizes the importance of prayer for all those working in state government but particularly for the leaders. They are wrestling with complex issues and problems that can only be resolved through God’s wisdom, not theirs. We pray that they will humble themselves before Him in accordance with the Washington state constitution that acknowledges “The Supreme Ruler of the Universe” under which we enjoy our freedom and liberties. Susan has been involved with intercessory prayer groups for several year and is honored to serve as coordinator for the Washington State Governor’s Prayer Team.
